Review: Yuri Pibu Artichoke Power Toner

Frankly speaking, I bought this because I was super in love with the Essence. I wanted to try this toner out badly, so that I can double up the pores-minimizing and anti-oxidizing effects of the Essence. Besides, who is not interested in a toner that claims to do all the firming, brightening and tightening effects for your skin? And since it is meant for big pores, I also gave it to my mom who has pores concern, and she enjoys this just as much as I do. Below are our thoughts on the toner after using it for about several months now.




The Artichoke Power Toner is deliciously packed with 50% artichoke extract and 40% of witch hazel water. Witch hazel water, as many of us should have known, is a great alternative to alcohol, as it can tighten up your pores, double cleanse and regulate sebum production. This greatly compliments the anti-oxidizing, moisturizing and pores reducing effects of the artichoke goodies in here. This also contains yeast extract for those who are concerned about dark spots and uneven skin tone. Basically, this toner targets to nail it all.





This toner has a wonderful texture. It is really moisturizing like Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Toner, or Dr. Wu Hyaluronic Acid Essence Toner. However, it helps to take care of your sebum production too. It also absorbs really fast into the skin, leaving no stickiness whatsoever. It has a very faint earthy scent to it. If you have tried the Artichoke Power Essence, this should smell like that, but much milder.

As you can see, this toner uses only clean and gentle ingredients. 50% of this toner is artichoke extract, packed full of antioxidants compressed to make this a wonderful pores-reducing elixir. Others like the Siberian ginseng extract, betaine, pepper peel extract, and adenosine are used to provide anti-inflammatory and soothing effects for the skin. This has a tiny bit of rose flower oil, lavender oil and tea tree oil as well to regulate your sebum production and reduce acne.

PERFORMANCE

This is my mom's current holy grail toner. Normally she only falls for the "expensive toner". But she raves about this one when I gave her some to try even though she doesn't know the price, so the placebo factor is not there, and she truly thinks this is good. She reports brighter skin tone and reduced pores size with continuous use. She also thinks that this hydrates her skin really well. It seems that she shares the same experience with me when she is using this toner, even though it is just two weeks after she starts using it.

CONCLUSION

This is one of the best toners that one can dream for. It works for all skin types, be it dry, combination or oily skin. I am not sure if dehydrated skin will like this, because the texture is not as refreshing and cooling as those with dehydrated skin will like. However, this does contain a fair dose of skin-benefiting ingredients (and in high concentration) to bring your sagging pores back into shape. It also regulates your sebum and moisturize your skin well too. My mom with combination skin and pores concern enjoys this a lot. She has said that after 2 weeks of using this toner, which is saying something about it!
